Day one started well it didn't really begin because i couldn't sleep and i had the flu coming; our flight was at 6.30 so up super early. My dad forgot his euros half way there so we had to turn around and get them, them we literally just made the plane because i wanted a drink and dad wanted a paper, not a good move. I was not nervous about flying at all you know; until my aunt and dad started talking about it but you know it really is not as bad as i thought it was going to be! We got the super early flight so everyone was still half asleep and the lady who was a few rows back started snorring so loud, she was louder than the engines. Man. I read my book and slept for a while. Once we had landed it was raining pure joy, ireland was beautiful though really beautiful, i wanted to us public transport so we did, we jumped on and like five minutes later we were at the hotel.
The euro is so confusing, the money just does not register in my head. We checked our bags in and headed for the city/dublin which was also a five minute bus ride. Ok cool so we get to dublin and i look at my watch its what 8.30 no where is open no coffee shops or anything, so we thought you know its a capital there must be a starbucks or costa; let me tell you there isn't well there is but just one and my dad and i spent around half an hour looking for it. We stopped in the middle of the path and just looked at our map not knowing what we wanted to do today and a old man came up to us and asked if we wanted any help. (no one does this in london, no one you have to ask for help) this shock me and made me happy beyond belief. So we stole some of his local knowledge found a starbucks in a shop and sat there for around an hour and a half looking through this map and other books we had picked up from the hotel. From then on we became regulars; well they knew who we were, what we were having and where we sat, what impression we must make.
I then dragged my dad into all the shops upon Grafton Street all in fact the shops we have in the london, but i tried to tell him 'they WILL have different style of clothes dad' and then we walked literally round the WHOLE of Dublin we did;
St Patrick's, Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Science Exhibition, The Spire, THE O'Connell Monument, Tailors Hall, City Hall, Trinity College, Stephens Green, Leinster House.
We didn't expect to do it all in one day but we kind of just bumped into things and then by the time 6pm came we had done it all. It was my birthday the next day and i felt like uber shit so i went in LUSH and the really nice lady in there helped me pick out one that would make my noise and body feel better and thats what i did, we went back to the hotel super early and my dad went to the gym and i layed in the bath that happen to then turn green thanks to the bath bomb, we then headed done to the bar to have a relaxing drink and we listerned to the live music being played and got chatting to the bar man. Who then made my dad and i stay up till midnight so i could by my first legal drink; in which i did and i brought him and my dad one to, this meant that me and my dad had been up for 25hours we were so so so sleepy. So we headed to bed!!!
and i was 18.
